Firma Signing Solutions - No Good/Bad exp.
I did use the search feature and decided to give them a shot. Bad move. Jim Figger replied to a post there stating " We always pay notaries within the 30 days, just not the ones that try to screw us!
I completed a closing 12/1/2006 (115 days ago) and still haven't been paid. Not even a promise to pay, only an email from Steve Austin in accounting saying he would look into it and get back to me. Never did, even after several attempts to get a reply.
Today I mailed a Demand for Payment letter with return receipt. I am tired of playing the wait and see game. Along with the original fee due I have imposed today our 25% late fee and and monthly interest of 1.5% on all balances due. This after giving them nearly an additional 60 days notice of this pending action. BTW, denial of payment for services rendered is deemed theft of services under Wyoming state law. I have given them now until April 13, 2007 to make payment in full before further legal/court action is initiated.
As a business owner myself, I do not tolerate breech of contract for services rendered. They have had ample to be forthcoming with payment. I do not work for free for nobody.

Re: Firma Signing Solutions - No Good/Bad exp. - Update
I received four PMs on this company, some people understandably do not wish to be named.
On May 16, 2007 I received the following PM also:
>>> Firma does thousands of signings per year and we just recently found out about this "blog". We believe we are one of the most professional and highly regarded signing services in California. We do have a few negative comments on this site but a relatively small number in comparison to how many signing we have completed. We also understand that notaries are more likely to take the time to "complain" on this website than to take time to give a good review. We wish more notaries would go out of their way if they are happy with a signing service to post such a comment. Just as there are some bad signing services there also some bad notaries. If you have an issue with payment etc. please contact our office.
Thank You
Firma >>>
This "fourm" is designed for notaries to exchange information, share professional knowledge and experience. Complaints and/or praise about signing services or title companies are a very small number of posts. Once in a while high praises will be noted but professionalism is expected all around so they are rare. It is when inceidents of unprofessionalism are found that posts are made.
My complaint evolved because it eventuslly took 122 days to receive any payment. My closing occured on 12.1.2006 and I only received a payemnt on 4.2.2007. This after two invoice faxes, two phone calls with the promise of payment and finally a demand letter sent via Certified Mail Return Receipt. Late fee (after 90 days) and interest due are still outstanding in the amount of $36.81 as of May 3, 2007.
I am a business owner and have expenses as well. Notarial services are all out-of-pocket expenses until payment is received. Prompt payment for services rendered is expected and generally received net 45 days. Ninety days out is extreme and that is when we may add the 25% late fee and monthly interest of 1.5% per month. Tracking and accounting of late payments costs us money and valuable time; hence my original post to the forum.
