Got a call to do a signing....

I thought he said he was from Select Signings so I said ok and stated my fee. I was on my way to a signing. On my way home I checked my vm as he had tried calling (letting me know that he sent docs). I called back and (kind of like) a switchboard operator answered my call and wanted to know should he direct me to SOX or to Nations Direct. UH OH! I wasn't sure, I said I would check my email and make my call in a bit. Before I got home, the scheduler called me again to see if i got docs. He WAS from Sox. I said I misunderstood where he was calling from and I would not be able to do signing. blah blah... he asked if I would be willing to work directly through lender because needed to be signed. Didn't think a good idea. No point to this story I guess.. Just a heads-up on Sox and Nations Direct:-) Would anybody else have said "ok, I'll do it through lender"?

I do not do that to my good SS's but in this case, I will sure ask them to put my name in the hud as notary services.

If I were a SS,Escrow,Title or a Lender I will write down your name and I will be sure NOT to call you for any kind of service. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have posted this so many times. Are you out of your mind?

I did do one for the lender directly (SOX is their main SS)

and I did get paid, finally, after some chasing. (Better than SOX, but still not timely). In my case, I was contacted directly by the LO, since SOX failed to find someone to do the signing (hmmm, I wonder why). In our conversation, I did point out SOX's non-payment history when I found out why a NSA couldn't be found. Haven't received any repeat business from the LO directly since. At least I finally got paid...It was good $$, too, for a last-minute deal.
