Hold on to those emails.
"You took the wrong documents to the closing."
That's what the signing service accused me of on Wednesday, in an attempt to shift the blame.
The closing was on Monday. Someone at the company sent me a link last Friday to download the documents in eLynx format. But changes to the documents were made since then. I wasn't notified. Bad communication. Someone tried to cover it up by later deleting the documents, and posting the correct documents on the site -- 2 days after the closing.
But the site shows a history of when documents are uploaded. And I had the email showing the date I was given the link to the documents -- 3 days earlier. I also printed out the page from the eLynx site showing the history of when the documents were posted.
Not only did it show that I wasn't at fault, but it was also all the evidence I needed to get paid a full fee for doing the re-sign.
Don't throw those emails away. And document everything. It could save you.
We have to put a stop to: "It's the notary's fault."
Good luck.

Leon, what's the name of the unscrupulous SS? If you don't feel comfortable posting it, please PM me. Thanks. And I do hold on to my e-mails.

I had the same problem
The SS swore up and down that I forgot to do 6 or so pages, the TC could not believe I had screwed up that badly. Once I forwarded to the EO the PDF I was sent, she saw immediately what was wrong and was very sorry to have jumped to the conclusion. I now keep every missive until I am paid, including any Fedex,UPS electronic reciept I get.

The person who deleted the files and then lied needs to be fired asap.

"what's the name of the unscrupulous SS?"
No, I won't mention the name of the company on this site, either publicly or privately. However, I did just finish writing an article about the incident today.

I guess using this teaser is a good way to direct traffic to your blog (which I enjoy and read from time to time without the teasers). I read your blog and it did not list the names of the company, either.

I have nothing to sell on my blog. It's a labor of love.
And I never said that I mentioned the name of the company. I would never do that.

Leon has a great site. I have enjoyed reading his Blog. many
times. I think the post he makes show that he is willing to help others in the notary field.
He doesn't have to tell the name of every low ball ss that comes across his path. Remember that the good ones read this forum as well as the bad and when they see someone putting down company's for giggles, they have to think what are they going to say about me the next time the docs are late, or a payment is a few days behind ???

Yes, that is primarily what I intend to do with a lot of the topics. Simply share.
It would have been easier to just link to my profile. But my messages were once deleted because I was "advertising".
To this day, I'm still trying to figure out what I'm selling. (confused emoticon inserted)
