How many signings per day is the norm
For most of you notaries that have been in the Biz a while, how many signings would you say you average per day during the normal duration of the month? I know this increases at the end of the month, how many do you guys average then? Just wondering if my biz is doing as well as others or poor. Thanks for your comments!!

10-12?r Ha, ha, ha, ho, ho, ho, hee, hee, hee.
Not in your wildest dreams.
Given everything that needs to be done, I'll do a maximum of five, a mixture of edocs and overnight packages.

I can't resist....if 10-12 is the norm....and I believe the constant messages stating that we should be charging $100+ min for each....then can I have a ride in your yacht next time I'm in Florida?

I'd say 4-5 is good. Depends too on what type of loan you are doing.
But if you figure each takes an average of two hours (pre-pre, closing, post-closing) then that is a full day. Also, I have noticed that you tend to get brain strain after five and it becomes very easy to miss something stupid like an initial or buried signature.
Don't push yourself beyond limits and always come to the table fresh in mind and attitude.

I prefer not to do more than 4 in a day, as I cover a very wide area, and some days drive 400 miles. Yesterday I did 7 closings, all actually in 3 of my 4 home counties, and I was home by 7.
I wouldn't attempt more than 7 a day, due to the tendoncy of lenders/tc's to get docs out late. I hate those days where you are booked solid and one very late package makes you scramble to reschedule your whole day.

The most I've ever done in a day was 10 and the majority of those were IREP closings. (Beneficial and HFC) I agree with the person that said after so many, your brain gets fried. I worked from early morning until night and stayed up way past midnight to get my packages ready to go out the next day.

In the good old days......
I had a day with 11 appointments. HFC & Beneficial were at least 1/2 of them. It was a Saturday and by the time my day ended, around 8pm, I had only put 87 miles on my car! I have never repeated that and know I never will. These days I put 50,000 miles a year on my car and am working 1/2 as much.

To answer your question, 2-4 per day is the "average". I do not know anyone personally that does 10-12 closings per day (Monday-Friday) for 20 days in a month. That would be about $20,000 per month ($100 per closing). Just don't see that happening. End of the month, the last 3 or 4 days, I can do 5-7 per day. I love it at the end of the month when Beneficial/HFC books me for 8 in one day, every hour, I drive to one branch, close loans all day and make about $720. No printing docs, no waiting on that imaginary email coming in.

I really don't know how you guys doing 10 per day but, for sure I can't here in California. My max per day was 5. I schedule one every 1.5 - 2 hour because every thing can happened at the table and I do not want pressure the borrower to sign plus I need to drive from one location to another and traffic here in Stockton area after 5:00pm is too busy. My “average" per day is 1-2 (some day 0)

1-2 per day
I had only two scheduled yesterday and was busy from 10am when I started printing, until 630pm when I dropped the second set of docs at Fedex. They were both double loans, edocs received last minute, printer jams, total reprint of first set of double docs because of last minute HUD changes, new edoc viewer needing to be loaded, first borrower running late, second borrower wanting to meet earlier, headache, neck ache, not enough time to eat, phone ringing off the hook.......
I don't know how anyone does 10-12 a day. I was totally stressed out with just these two.

My limit is 4 due to e-docs and driving
And some days that is stretching it. If I had all ON docs, and local, I could see doing 8/day. I did 4 today (all e-docs) I started with an almost full tank and had to fill up my gas tank to make the last one: 360 miles total. I cover a lot of rural territory.
