I made the switch to a MAC.

I lost (beer battered and deep fried) a computer last week, and replaced it with a new Gateway computer (Vista). NOTHING WORKED, I didn't want VISTA on the computer when I bought it but it was the only option available for the model I wanted. VISTA SUCKS. Well, the gateway getting returned today.

I went out the the Apple store yeserday and bought myself an awesome little IMAC with all the whistles available, including Destop Parrallels which will run Windows XP. I'm having a little trouble with getting the printer drivers between the two systems to cooperate, but I will figure it out. Anyone else using Parrallels to operate XP?

I agree! Vista is Junk! My desktop crashed, but it didn't burn, though it's not doing well, so I bought a Laptop. Couldn't find the one I wanted with XP so I ended up with Vista. Finally got it working they way I wanted, but numerous pitfalls along the way. The biggest hurdle was with the security stuff. The installer signed in as "Trusted Installer" and set it up so that I couldn't acess anything from Windows Explorer. No changes, no looking at the program Files, no looking at Cookies, no nothing. I finally figured out how to give myselt the permissions I needed, and things are moving ahead. If it gets too bad, I'll wipe the drive and install my trusty XP. Voids the warrenty, though. The only one I could afford with a 17" screen was a Gateway. Hope your MAC works for you. I gotta stay with Big Brother!

Vista IS junk! I agree too. Don't know what they were thinking but I too will migrate over to MAC next time my XP kills itself.

On Vista equiped computers, install another HD and put your XP on that drive then it wont void your warrenty. You can select which drive to boot from also. Also should have the option of dual boot feature too. I did that with XP and Lynux.

My ibook just plugs in (USB) and prints pdf. I have trouble with digital doc assignments that require printing programs like swiftprint so I unlock my PC print the copies then lock it back up.

After my teenagers ruined several PC's I bought them an eMac then a Mac Mini with a big flat monitor. I'm happy to announce that My Space and such just can't kill the MAC.
