Just got a hilarious call
from a SS asking me to do a edoc closing tomorrow night. I said that I had that time slot available and I charged a total of $xxx for an edoc closing in that area. The scheduler said "You charge that much even for a SS?" I said yes. She said that when notaries are trained they learn that they are supposed to take closings from SS's for less so they can get more business and experience. I spelled out my 17 years experience to her, said that I really didn't think I needed anymore experience, and then said I don't leave my house for less than $xxx.
First time I've heard the "when notaries are trained they are supposed to ...." line before. I wonder if the NNA gives classes to the SS's on how to get notaries to lower their fees!
