Just a reminder, the only thing you can trust anymore is yourself and your instincts.

Don't you need a BGC to be a mortgage broker? LOL
This points up the absurdity that a BGC is a cure-all. Aren't mortgage brokers licensed by the state they operate in, and doesn't the state do a BGC on them, same as they do for real estate brokers, insurance brokers, mutual fund salespeople, and the like?

You are kidding right? Just because you have a state license does not mean the state did a BC. If that were true, that would stop tons or people from getting a contractors license, etc. Even the people that cut your hair are licensed in a state, never heard of them getting a BG.

In NC, a loan officer needs only a criminal background check, and that has only been in existance for a couple years.

Notary Mother too trusting with daughter
Also read in the NNA newsletter (yeah, I'm still a member) about the daugher of an Alabama notary facing identity theft charges after she stole information from her mother's signers!
