This company owes me $325.00 from mid-January. They contacted me asking to "work with them" on the money they owed to me. I explained I would give it a little time, but that I doubted my attorney (aka husband) would be as patient. They were offering 3-month, 6-month and 9-month repayment plans. I emailed twice in mid-March, but got no response. On March 20, my husband/lawyer sent a formal demand letter. On March 21, THEIR lawyer replied with an offer to pay me the total balance owed in 3 month installments OR 1/2 (only) of the total debt immediately.

I am not talking about thousands of dollars. I'm talking about $325.00 -- peanuts to them, but half a month's food budget around here. Fortunately I accepted very few assignments with this company because of the low pay.

I did my job, now this company won't pay.

Worth knowing.

They're 3 months late with one with me and wanted another 90 days. I gave them one more week -- then I will file suit in small claims and make a BBB complaint.

Tri Star Title used N3 for their SS. Tri Star probably owes them a ton too when they were forced out. No excuse for not paying you guys though. I'm lucky that I wasn't owed anything from either. I did some for N3 and when I turned them down, Tri Star would call me directly. Took me a while to learn that trick. It worked 90% of the time.

I was thinking that too. They have never answered a phone call, email or fax. When I finally got them on the phone I got one excuse after another.

Had they honestly stated they had a cash flow problem I would have been willing to work with them to resolve it. As it is I'll write it off as a bad debt if I have to but not until I take every action that is practical to collect.
