OT: Update RE wisdom teeth.....
Well I got all four pulled today. Stupid me I was given Novocain (sp?) instead of anesthesia. When I went in for the consultation I thought we agreed on anesthesia. Today I found out I was wrong.
It wasn't painful, but I did not like the fact that I could feel the oral surgeon tugging and yanking. On my second tooth I started to feel sick to my stomach and told them to stop. They opened a window for me and tilted the chair all the way back and gave me a cold cloth for my head.
I shut my eyes and was relieved to find out that my top two wisdom teeth came out easily. My bottom ones were hell!
Thank God I was prescribed percocets. Now I'm feeling very minimal pain. I got all four teeth pulled at once just to get it over with.
It wasn’t that painful or anything like that, I just don't recommend being alert. Get anesthesia if you can.
Well, I'm going to bed now and will sleep the discomfort away. Thanks for all of your earlier advice.

Tooth pain is worse than
giving birth, in my opinion. I had 2 yanked at a time, but was able to participate in a clinical study & had them pulled for free. Don't know if it was a good trade, but at least it's done. I feel for ya!! Enjoy the jello & pudding!!

Keep the cold on your face!
Ice or whatever they told you. It really helps in the long run. My son didn't and he was a chipmunk for alot longer than he needed to be...

Yes Ma'am. I have to schedule 2 extractions PDQ, and yet
I procrastinate...
BTW, I did all 4 wisdom teeth in one swell foop in early 20s; sodium pentathol (on Jupiter) - and thankful I never had to do *that* again. Come to think of it, I only had one baby, too.
So, to the Dear Dental Patient, don't suck on straws, rinse gently with warm saline water, and breathe deeply the Spring air...
Here's to a quick recovery (or should I say, Quit Recovery)
Cheers! Susie

I think it was Milton Berle...
that had a skit where a woman, ready for an extraction told the dentist "I'd rather have a baby". The dentist said "make up your mind before I adjust the chair"
