Resign and possible backdate
I know backdating is a no-no but I have a question for you. The package was signed on Saturday and the borrower signed some of the documents as the named typed under it and some of the documents with his initials and last name. Title wants to get all new docs and backdate them to Saturday instead of just having the borrower sign underneath his original signature with the correct name. I am assuming that signing new documents would still cause a no-no on the notary documents to be dated Saturday. What are you thoughts?

You are right, you cannot backdate the notary certificates. You have to put down the current date you are notarizing.

Common Sense?
They're sending new documents to be signed, you know backdating is a no-no, why would you even question this? Unless they're sending a time machine along with the docs, isn't the answer completely obvious?
I just never understand why people think that their particular situation just MIGHT be the exception to a rule that is clearly black and white. Or if they do know the answer (which you obviously already did) why they're afraid to trust their own decision making abilities and need reinforcement from others.
If you know what's right, then do what's right. Stop second guessing yourself.

What Cali said...
Borrowers can sign documents with any date they please. Within the notary block, however, it's a no-brainer for you. Don't question what you already know to be true.
And if Title argues with you, explain to them that this is not golf - notaries do not get mulligans...
