Has anyone seen a VA loan lately?

Re: VA Loans ~ Not in CA!

I am not sure if there are any areas left in CA where a VA loan could qualify. I don't even know if the Cal-vet program is actually doing any lending any more. Have you seen any lately?

Now that you mention it, not in quite a while. And the

There not as cheap as they once were.

There are now funding fees of 2.4% to 3.3% of the loan amount, which makes them seem a bit exspensive. The exception to this is if one is VA disabled, if this is so then there is no funding fee.

Re: There not as cheap as they once were.

There was a lot of VA reduction loans for those who had been activated. then it dropped off. maybe they have someone on the base doing them now. That is how I spent the first day of the war, on base doing VA reductions. The most memorable was the couple with 5 children, the youngest was 2 weeks old. He was leaving for Iraq the following week and she was going in 3 months. They were having to split up their kids.
