WHAT!!!!!

I can't believe this. I got a call from Nationwide Document Services yesterday afternoon to do a closing this morning (borrower had docs) I get there and the HUD shows Notary fee to SOX!!! The HUD showed Home Loan Center (HLC) (Lending Tree). All of sudden I feel sick. I am going to call NDS and ask them what SOX has to do with this.

Same thing happened to me w/Ticor Title...

The HUD said Doc It to Me. They might be a fine company, I wouldn't know... never worked for them... but in this case, THEY are the ones that got paid and I had to fight for 9 months to get Ticor to admit their mistake and get my $$. They had initially hired DITM, and their notary backed out.
Could be an innocent error... maybe SOX couldn't find them a Notary? Maybe everyone has finally wised up and stopped taking assignments for them? And maybe NDS had to find an SA on their own. Let's hope so.
In the mean while, I would definately call NDS and tell them to flag that file for post-closing.

3 times has happened to me that the name in the HUD is somebody else, AND the title co. tell me to cross the other notary's name and write down mine. Next time ask you can do that.

I feel better now

I just called NDS and she wasn't sure why that was on the HUD but told me I am getting paid from NDS so not to worry. You can imagine what I felt when I saw SOX on HUD. I thought somehow they were connected.
