I took the TiJuana taxi to downtown TJ this morning to take pictures.

I Notice the Rates...

...aren't exactly "cast in stone". Are those US dollars, Joe?

Re: I Notice the Rates...

Yes those are in dollars Dennis. Their all (and there's quite a few) about the same price.

Re: Do the generic Viagra work as well as the brand name?

Pfizzzer Corp. announced today that VIAGRA will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Kola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer.

It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one.
Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of "cocktails", "highballs", and just a good old-fashioned "stiff drink"

Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of "MOUNT & DO"

I'm curious about this as I've been told by someone I respect alot that the dentists in TJ were all educated in the US (many at Loma Linda, the premier dental school) and simply move their practice to TJ. I'm told many Americans go south for these procedures. It makes me really leary to even think of having dental work done there.

There's a real boom in plastic surgery there also. Supposedly, the doctors there are also educated in the US and you get the same results.

I dunno....I'd rather pay inflated prices here than to take my chances there. The old saying..."you get what you pay for" seems to really fit in this situation.

Several friends have had extensive crown and bridgework done in Mexico - probably not at the place in the photo - but at respectable, professional facilities, with very affordable rates. They stayed a few days, in extremely comfortable and accomodating lodgings, and all have gorgeous smiles. And. in most cases, the whole trip cost less than a few procedures would have here. 'Medical Tourism' is a growing global industry; check out Costa Rica, for instance.

It's the same everywhere - there are good doctors/dentists and poor ones, and one must do good homework.

Cheers!
Susie

Interestingly, the prices seem to have gone up. It was about a fourth of that back then, if memory serves me well.

Me and my wife and two small children were LOCKED in there, the day President Kennedy was assinated. (Dark day in history it was then).

Do they still sell "meat" out of Suitcases on the corners? Could never figure out what kind it was!

You opened a vivid memory here of yester-year!

Probably iguana meat. Iguana-bobs we used to call them in Colon, Panama in the late 60s. Sizzling on many street-corner barbys on any sultry evening, their aroma was yet another intoxicating spice for the senses, like the happy music spilling out of the clubs, and the smiles of passers-by. With a cold cervesa, they were tasty snack on our way to the Lido for the floor show once in a while when my husband had a night off.

Cheers!
Susie

Susan- what you described sounds appetizing- What I saw, was raw meat- no B-B-Q around at all- just meat on an open suitcase, on top of a couple boxes, with a vendor shoeing off the flies.

Of course those were the days of the "cardboard city" also. We haven't returned, but wonder if they even exist anymore.

Those dentists are for some SS owners that are always...

looking for the lowest prices. One time I had some dental work done in MX and later on it had to be done again here in the USA. And Titlegirl, is the otherway aroud, many US medical students are in MX and then they come back to do their practice in USA.
