"fun" first signings
Just wanted to share this story of my first 2 signing experiences from last night. (I won't mention who they came from, as I'm not sure if he would want me to mention)
First, was a POA HELOC, which was last minute. Wife was signing for husband, who had severe disabilities which made it very difficult to understand what he was saying, which was a little uncomfortable. Add in a black lab who was a bit rambunctious (sp) and was determined to eat the docs. I ended up "guarding" the table with one arm extended, so when he sat up and tried to move toward the table, my arm was in the way. So then he was hanging/leaning on my arm. Made it very hard to concentrate and focus on what i was doing, and of course add it the "first signing jitters."
Second, was a late night signing that never happened. Rushed home, printed the docs, rushed back up about 15mi North, to meet the borrowers at their family store (about 11pm), and first the husband had no idea who I was, or what I was doing there (kept telling me "we're closed, come back tomorrow" . Apparently his wife failed to mention they were going to be signing docs...DUH! Then tried to head up to the residence to get the wife to sign, at least, and she tells me, oh I'm already in bed, can't we do it tomorrow? (Never mind she was giving me directions to her house only 10 minutes prior to this on a previous call...)
