fingerprints

How does a notary become able to take fingerprints. I am thinking about expanding my business and noticed that taking fingerprints is an option on our profile.

There are a number of sites that sell supplies; it's not all that hard. To make sure I didn't smudge them up and make a mess I got the local police station to teach me (g). I rarely do them; once in awhile someone wants their kids printed.

There is no one answer, because each organization that wants the prints taken will have its own rules about who may take the prints. I know, for example, that people applying for a Vermont teacher's license must be printed by a Vermont State Trooper or a local police officer with special training.
