re: e-mial fees
I work behind the scenes at a Title Company and they make more money than you think. All the junk fees and a good percentage of the Title Insurance policy. The next loan you do take the HUD and add up all the junk fees associated with the settlment as well as (Just for -----and giggles) take 50% of the Owner's Title Insurance policy (which I think they get more). Then decided If they need to cut back on your fees...... I hate to say this but maybe they need to lay-off an extra employee at the TC walking around doing nothing........I only say this because I see it first hand...........

Totally agree, Karen.
They aren't hurting any. Except for fluctuations in volume... and we all have to deal with that. The solution is NOT to decrease your fees so they can keep their bottom line looking good at your expense. Am I the only one who is so unsympathetic to their whining and wonder why they think I should care?

It does make me mad that SS sometimes inform me that their fees are $5.00 less, when I see they are making a wad themselves. I know the borrowers are paying thousands, and now they want to shave $5.00 off of me? I know they can cut costs somewhere else.
I wonder if I should have been a title officer instead. Then I can make money AND say home at night and on the weekends.
