Re: sox (long)

Service in October was paid in February. Service 12/1/ was paid mid-March. To be paid took frequent e-mails discussing actual telephone calls and referencing each and every phone call to Brandi.(establishing a paper trail). Several promises on checks being sent were ignored by them. It actually did take more time to make phone calls, insisting on talking with her rather than leaving a voice mail, talking with her, following up with e-mails and then starting again - than it did to perform the services. Have not accepted any work from them since 12/1 and reading posts here regarding payment issue. I would agree with others that this was not a personnel issue (likely not Brandi’s fault). What it looked like to me was they may be using current signings to pay for those that were insistent (and persistent) and ignoring others (an interesting cash flow technique). A local Notary friend also has had outstanding invoices and has not been paid at all despite his hours of time spent on follow through. I did check BBB and read the ratings following this issue. But, I did not check with AG of CA. I do wonder why the FBI would not be able to intervene as they are heavily involved in interstate commerce (but then again, I am not an attorney, nor one specializing in this kind of law).

I also received an assignment from another company where Sox appeared on the HUD. I immediately called the TC and asked if Sox was involved and asked for an e-mail confirming the name of the SS. It should also be said that the TC in this case was the same as the two I did for Sox and those documents also “had some issues”.

For whatever it is worth, it appears as though many persons are owed money by them (and I know one person that does not take the time to post anything here - a lot more like him are likely out there). It looks as though “Notary Talk” site has a number of persons with payment issues with SOX. Perhaps each person aired thoughts of non-payment but then the issue was resolved? If each would work with the others and post a message here as to how much they are owed (and that each have a verifiable paper trail to back it up), then one of the individuals that is owed money may print the postings of each and take the issue up with state AG and/or FBI. Then again, perhaps it is really a small problem with fewer than a dozen payment issues? An interesting point may be that for them to be able to pay many persons, they would have to either have large reserves or be allowed to stay in business.

How many posts will it take for cryin out loud?

How many posts stating that SOX is the worst company in the UNIVERSE will it take before people actually listen and not accept work from them.

I get calls from sox too, when they say who they are, I use that wonderful little "END CALL" feature of my phone. I have found the "END CALL" button to be quite a little money saving tool.

I don't want to work for free, I don't want to have to chase my money.

WAKE UP! DON'T WORK FOR SOX! END OF STORY!

Wait. Its really NOT that simple. I usually do about 1k to 2k a month with them, and yes, they are very late in paying and, yes, I wen't through the phase of banging my head against the wall by calling constantly and getting upset at Brandi. I've tried other tactics as well with limited success. But now I accept the fact that I need to wait three months to get paid. They have never NOT paid.
So you have to ask yourself is the wait worth it to you? For me, I guess it is, because I contiue to accept their assignments.
To each their own....
