  Anyone own a Dell laserjet?
What model and do you like it or hate it? Why?

Yes, M5200 NT and I hate it--want it?
I had an HP4050 that I had for years. It's still in the basement and the rollers were sticking and I wanted a new toy and my husband works for the technology deparment of a school and thought the Dell printers were the bomb.
Well it sucks, the structural integrity is weak, the plastic isn't solid like my old 4050 it's like soft, for lack of a better word.
I hate the beep beep beep sound it makes when it jams or the paper is out. I'm using lovetoner now, but the true dell toner is $189 a pop.
Forget about trying to cancel a job, it keeps spitting out the docs even if you go into the control panel and remove it.

My friend wants to buy one of the large business laser printers. I though the Dells were rather cheaply made and that she could get a nice HP4200 or better with the additional paper tray for less.

Anything that doesn't require separate drum replacement is good for business. Also, consider toner yield capacity and replacement cost in making purchasing decision. I'd recommend any HP printers with cartridges that currently can be refill.
I own a Dell 1700 dual tray since day one and it's currently being use in the car. I think the 1700 series are their best printers made. High yield toner refill with the chip cost $21.
I have two HP4100TN, HP3100 All-In-One, and an HP8100TN as back up. With the HP4100 it cost me $2 to print 250 pages.

With a 1700, two HP4100TNs and an HP3100, you need an HP8100TN as a back up? How many closings do you do a month?

I have a Dell 1600n (purchased the extra tray as well). I love it and have never had any problems with it. It is really quick!
