CA Notaries only, please advise re. DOT witness requirement
If there are any early-risers our there. I am doing a 1st lien refi for WaMu. There are lines on the DOT sig page for "Witnesses." I don't recall needing witnesses for CA DOT's in the past.
Is witnessing necessary at all (leave blank)?
If witnessing is necessary, how many are needed and may the notary be a witness?
T-I-A and Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
  Rick

CA is not a witness state. Docs often have places for witnesses to sign even when no witnesses are required. Unless the lender has specifically requested witnesses you can ignore the witness lines.

Sylvia is correct only if lender requires it.
