EFS, Express Financial Services~beware~
First.. let me say they give the appearance they will meet your fees. I contracted for a single refi with docs to borrower.. an hour before my appointment, I get a notice on my cell that I have an e-mail from EFS.. I'm already on my way!! So I have to go back to the office to print. Then they reject the e-doc fee.
Secondly.. they said they pay average of 45 days. Well, I called their accounting department at 52 days and am told the check will go out next Friday.. wait a sec.. 52 days and the check isn't cut yet? Wait another sec.. they're the TITLE company.. WTH is going on? They're riding MY money for 60 days.
I don't know about you, but I'm not going to work for people like this again.

I have handled many signings for EFS over the last three years and have never had a bad experience. They are worth another try, imo.

99.9% of the time when EFS sends docs overnight, your instructions state that the HUD and Affs. will be emailed to you. If you left without a HUD and junk docs, that is your fault. Your basic fee for o/n docs should include a fee for the 16-25 pages of junk docs that will follow via email.
Yes, EFS does take their time to pay...45-60 days is usual, but they will always pay.

Worked for them for at least 9 years and they were great...until their upper management changed. While they always paid on the 15th and 30th, now they pay 45 days or more out. They never questioned fees as long as you did a quality job. Now that's changes also. I gave up on them at the end of last year and will no longer service them. They will never cheat you out of your money...but you'll wait 45 dqys or more for it.

I don't understand the hoopla
EFS advises when payment is to be expected. I enjoy working with them, and they do pay as promised. As far as the original poster's comments about the HUD and junk docs being sent after he'd left for the closing: be advised newbies: always wait for a HUD and title docs. If you don't have them in your e-doc or overnight package, CALL for direction, don't just leave w/o them. This is what sets apart the experienced from the inexperienced, and your clients will know you lack in knowledge if you don't have the whole package!

Re: I don't understand the hoopla
It use to be twice a month payment now this last year its over 60 days not acceptable for a title company to pay you 60 days later. They got their money.

not acceptable for a title company to pay you 60 days later
While it is not preferable, it is acceptable to me, as long as I have been made aware before I accept the assignment. This has been EFS' policy for awhile now, and I knew it when they changed! I appreciate the way some folks just hand me TC's on a silver platter, LOL

30 to 45 days maybe but 60 days no way. It is unacceptable.

EFS does take time to pay, but they do pay, I would work for them anytime. They met my fees without a problem.

If they emailed you an hour before with some docs needed for the closing that isn't un-heard of. If you were going to charge them you should have called them before printing. I have worked with them many times and they have always been fair with me. They have always paid in a timely manner as well.

What people don't understand here is that feeding the pipeline is part of this business financial plan. Doesn't matter how long a company may takes to pay, as long as I have a good track record; those long waited payment do come handy as they trickle on the rainy days.
I did a few EFS signings last month. With the positive feed backs gotten from my trusted friends I know there will be something big in the mail around June.

Re: EFS, Never had a problem
Personally, EFS has always paid me within 30-45 days. They never argue about my rates and are great to work with. Wish I had more work from them.

Wow!
I was surprised to read this. I've never had any problem getting paid and they've never questioned my fees. They do take longer to pay (a little less than 45 days for me each time) but I know I can count on it.
If this was your only job with them, you might want to consider giving them one more shot. I get consistent work from them - especially at EOM.

Re: Wow!
I agree with Michele... they are great to work for.... once you start getting an larger amount of work, even though they are taking 60 days to pay, you will receive checks regularly. I get a check every week because of the back log of work I have in the pipeline with them... also, they are larger checks, not just individual checks for one closing. They have never had a problem with fee's... just until they changed their system over, not upper mgmt. last summer did it change the way they pay... it use to be twice a month... I don't mind waiting because I always get paid. I would give them another chance... they are very reputable, and one of the few vendor mgmt. companies that pays us what we are worth.
