Edoc rant

It just amazes me with all the warnings on confirmations saying 'read all your instructions carefully or your fee will be adjusted downward' and 'a fee will be deducted for this and that'. Yet here I sit waiting for edocs for a closing 40 miles from me that is to take place in an hour... assuming I can make it that far in rush hour traffic. Just how careful can you be when you have no time to look over the docs or the instructions before you sit down in front of a borrower and act like you know what you're talking about? Just another reason we are worth our salt.

I hear you loud and clear Betsy. We are expected to follow all instructions to a T, yet we are put in these kind of positions. All we can do is go with the flow and don't let it get you down. Be the professional you are and hold your head high. Give the borrower a call and explain the situation. I find most times that they understand. I had one yesterday like that. Docs were late and sent in the wrong page size. Nightmare to print out. Good Luck and hang in there.

This happens to me all the time. It's crazy. I hate to be in a panic to get the to borrower on time and then be embarassed if there is something wrong, like part of someone elses loan papers instead of the borrow's being in them. Not enough time to check for anything!

Plus, you'd better hope you don't have any paper jams or other print problems in the ten or so minutes you have to print out 200 pages.......still waiting!!

Yes,

I always tell whoever hires me I need docs 2 hours ahead or I can't do the signing, the problem with this is what happens like yesterday and today with the same title co., no docs and in the mean time you turn down other closings because you expect to be at the closing that never happens, and then YOU are out money. Sometimes I feel like saying if I don't get docs 2 hours ahead of time I will still charge my fee, but they would NEVER hire you then sometimes it's rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr so frustrating!!!

I've had that happen to me several times. Sometimes I think I'm going to stress out. I have decided not to take more than one a day unless they are morning & night because of it.

Like the other night a lady called me at 10 PM for a signing that needed to happen immediately... and it was 1/2 hour away. The docs didn't get sent until 11 PM. By the time all of them were printed, it was almost midnight.... turned out to be 2 loans. The HUDs were no longer any good, so we had to reschedule for the next day. The new HUDs didn't get to me until 4 PM. Now what was the holdup?
