Feedback from signing/title company
Hi, guys. If/when you make an error, how soon does the signing/title company usually call/email you about it?
For some reason, I have this paranoid feeling that I forgot to sign at least one of my jurats yesterday. The title company received my package at noon today and I haven't heard anything. Is it good news? Or does it take a while before they open and examine the package? Should I follow-up with the TC and/or the signing company? I did email the signing company if they had heard back but I haven't gotten a reply. I couldn't call because I was in meetings all day.
Thanks, Ever

Just to add... would you contact the TC directly about it? I was comfortable enough to call them directly yesterday for questions but since I have this feeling that I made a mistake, I'm a little hesitant to contact them now. Scaredy cat.

I would call the Title Co ASAP. They will be happy to check and then you will have plenty of time to correct the mistake, make sure that you do it before the NOROC date expires, then you will not hold up the borrowers funding. It is really hard on the whole process if the Title Co has to go to the SS to get aholde of you to do the corrections. I always include a business card and a note on how the signing went. IMHO Call the Title Co first thing in the morning. No one is perfect every time, I have learned it matters how you handle things when you make a mistake. One last thought it takes a team of people to getting some one funded, I am part of that team. Good luck.

My opinion is strictly mine but NO WAY IN HE77 would I call Title to say "hey I THINK I made a mistake, could you check please"? Geez....Title is NOT your best friend, NOT your buddy and do NOT want progress reports from you each and every step of the way. Title probably gets back hundreds of packages daily and they don't have time to listen to you especially when you're not even sure you've made a mistake. IF you made a mistake like the one you suspect they'll be letting you know about it. Contrary to what some think Title does NOT appreciate step by step progress reports unless you're dealing with an especially difficult BO.

Spot on, Sue.
I think from time to time we all get a feeling we have missed something, but I agree, title has more important things on their minds than going back to check your package, and wil let you know if a correction is needed.

Re: PS
I should add. I always let my SS know what is going on too, from start to finish. It is there responsibility to hire reasonable people to do the signing. They seam to be happy to know that you are finishing things up correctly. They can be a lot of help finding phone numbers and making contacts. The first time it happened to me I was scarred to %^%$$#. But the SS and Title Co people were so nice to have it fixed by me that is made for a nice experience. May I add I slept much better the next night.
