Can someone please explain to me exactly what is entailed in performing these tasks, including any licensing & insurance requirements (NY), pay structure (NY), and any insights on this particular line of business?

Go to www.sofi.us (Society of Field Inspectors) Also do a search with the orange button, for Inspections.
There is a ton of information regarding inspections.
