Oh the dream
Joan,
To rub elbow's with all those wealthy, certified NNA notaries makeing $175 to $500 per closing, minting the money by the thousands of dollars per year, having their backgrounds vetted by the NNA. Oh a dream come true. Perhaps you can take photos, or better yet a video and post it on You-Tube. I am sure they will all be immaculately dressed, dripping with bling and arriving in their luxury automobiles. No scratch that last thought. I am sure they have all traded for fuel efficient Piruses.
Heard a rumor the NNA is going to implement DNA checks. Samples will be collected from notaries in advance and then test strip analizers shipped to all borrowers with documents. When the notary enters the borrower's home, a blood sample will have to be given by the notary and matched against the NNA's proprietary database where they will only charge the notary a nomial verification fee each time the test is run. Let us know if you hear anything about this rolling around the committees.
Anxiously awaiting your update from the Notorious Notary Association.
Enjoy.

Don't give 'em ideas! They dream up enough junk on their own.

Oh far from it Sue. I was shocked! Aside from Susan Pense receiving that award, that's my most vivid memory of the entire San Diego event. A convention filled with happy morbidly obese people from all over the nation. The calorie curse was now on me too because I eventually gained 30 pounds over the years since that event.

**Oh far from it Sue. I was shocked! ** Good, then. LOL...I was about to post something in response to that...or...maybe I was just looking for a good reason to post it because I thought it was funny.
I was going to say:
Somehow this reminds me of the time my sister and I went with our kids and friends to a college bar (at their invitation!). We all had a great time..it was a blast...naturally there's a smarty in every crowd. A drunk male student smashed into me and Sis on our way to the bar for a little "ice tea". He looked at us and said, "Damn, I didn't know this was old lady's night."
We just kept moving and said nothing--no big deal, I was on my way for the "tea."
Later I was telling one of my college age neighbors in my neighborhood about it. He was one of the many I have "adopted" since being here...he was working in my flowerbed when I told him...W/o missing a beat he kept on pulling weeds and said, hey, if you run into rudeness like that again, you just say, "Yeah, well I didn't know this was LITTLE p***k night either."
It went into my "Come-Back Repertoire" and I can't wait to use it one o' these days.

I went and was extremely disappointed. I spent money I didn't have to listen to somewhat unprofessional speakers. I met nice people, but that's not what I went for. I thought I would have learned more with actually doing workshops, etc. This was seminars and lectures. Not worth it and will not go again.
