OK Lets see here, how to answer this question?
The price of gas is going UP.
The price of paper is going UP.
The price of evrything is going UP, and LSI would like the notaries that cut there fees for documents to $18.

I hope I speak for the whole notary community and that LSI should be paying more for our services. Just beacuse the refi & purchase market of real estate is slowing down and LSI is not making as much money as they use to DOES NOT mean that we are going to cut our fees.

If that's the way they want to do this, I'll lower my print fee to $18 and raise my base fee $25. Problem solved.

I've considered raising my base fee because of the rise in my cost of doing business. LSI should be greatful that notaries haven't already raised their prices.

I am very concerned about this as well. I do a lot of work for this company, and can't afford to blow them off. Only about 1/4 of the work is e-docs, but this is an insult. It seems LSI's reasoning for lowering their e-doc fees does not take into acct time we spend doing it, only the cost of materials. Hell, gas here is almost $4.00/gallon! I will have to raise my fees.
It would be great if all Notaries could band together and just say NO!

Yes, but

"It would be great if all Notaries could band together and just say NO!'

Just a quick note to remind all that any agreement between or among competitors on pricing of goods or services is a per se violation of the anti-trust laws. No reason to think the FTC or DOJ would want to come after frys as small as us but better safe than sorry.

The Bar Association of Georgia used to have an official fee schedule back in the 1960s but was forced to discontinue it after the courts ruled that the anti-trust laws applied to professional services. Notaries would almost certainly be covered by the same restrictions.

I just got a call from them today to do a closing and nothing mentioned about the lower fee. She gave me what I normally charge.
