Laughable offer yesterday
SS calls and asks if I travel to Marco Island for closings. Me: Yes, I do... but there is an additional travel fee since it is more than 25 miles each way, you understand, which takes almost an hour in this traffic. Her: Great! Can you be there at 6? (It was 4 when they called) Me: Sure, do you have docs now? Her: Um, not all of them... but the Borrower is flexible on the time. (Ok so far, right?) Me: Details, please. Who is the Lender, are there fax-backs, 1st only or 2 loans? Her: CW/FSL (130 pgs) and a HELoC 2nd (90 pgs). 63 page fax-back. We pay $80 total, with eDocs and fax-fees.
Ok. Stop laughing. She was serious. When I quoted my fee for this closing, she hung up on me.

Got a very similar one on Wednesday
I'm finding it extremely hard to contain my laughter (and utter amazement) at some of these offers. 1st + 2nd, CW/FS, edocs (who knows when they'll show up), travel over 100 miles ONE WAY, offer $90.00. Of course, with CS/FS, there will be a ton of fax backs and probably a "hold until approved". On top of that, the borrowers will probably balk at the terms and conditions of the loan.

Guys, someone has to be taking these
Otherwise, they wouldn't be so offended when we decline. Someone needs a good talkin' to.

Ouch!!! I remember those. And never ever pick a small one when you are told to pick your own.

With our family it was: "Go cut a switch and bring it here."
