Low Ball Fees...So Frustrating
May has been really slow for me and I have been getting so frustrated with the low ball pay that is being offered. It seems like more than half of my calls this month have been for ridiculously low pay. I think that my fees are very reasonable for Southern CA! The thing that really frustrates me is that I know someone will take that low offer!! Sometimes I think - should I just take the lower offer?? Better than nothing...but nope - I stick to my guns and if they don't want to pay it then they can go find the person that will take the low offer. They get what they pay for!!
I had a call that offered $30 for a refi!! Crazy. And another call I got wanted me to pick up the docs, complete the signing (15 miles from where I had to pick up the docs) and drop off the docs for $100 - sorry not with the price of gas right now!

I got a call this morning from American Title (not First American) who offered me $85 for an edoc signing 15 minutes from me. Could only go up $10 without having to get approval. Needless to say, I'm still waiting for that call back with approval.
I did double check that they were actually a title company and told him that most title companies pay more like $125 - $150 with overnight docs. He told me that without edocs their fee is $65. Yeah, I'm sure I'll be kicking myself later for letting such a valuable client slip through my fingers.

I just got a call from American Title...they offered me $60. I asked her, "are you a title co.?" She said yes. I told her that title and escrow co. usually pay $125-$150 for overnight. She seemed shocked that I would be asking for so much.
It wasn't even worth me picking up my cell phone.

Just like Lenders First Choice paying $80.00 for e-docs. Course I also received a call from a jerk down in So. Cal that wants to pay $90.00 for e-docs. Whoopee! No thank you!
