OT - Any Spidey Fans Still Up?
Just got home from taking my 3 sons to see Spiderman 3. Great action, dynamic special effects, excellent storyline (good vs evil with the good guys winning), no gratuitous sex...all in all, one satisfying movie!

No real Spiderman fan here, but I am a fan of good parenting and memory-making. Having raised three boys who are all between 26-30 now, I know this much for certain, they will never forget that you took them to a midnight showing of a favorite movie. That it was on a week night made it all the more better.

This Was a Reward...
...to our 14 year old son for his successful completion of a Spanish class he started in January of this year & the rest of us got to "tag along". As you may or may not recall we home school our 4 kiddos so the three boys (our girl is only 8 & stayed home with mommy) can sleep in a little (or maybe a LOT) this morning w/o fear of the principal coming down on them.
BTW, thank you for the kind words.

I saw the movie last night, too. But, I was lucky to get passes for 7:30, so I'm not as tired today! My guys and I liked it, too!

Our 3 boys loved it! We also took them to the final Star Wars movie. It was a blast and so crowded that we had to park in the drive through lanes of a bank 2 blocks away and walk back. My boys were hooked! All I try to think about when I am so tired the next day is "My kids will never forget this!"
My youngest turned 13 yesterday so it is offical - I have 3 teenage boys now. I am offically moving into the next phase of my life anticipating the challenge while pushing back tears for a phase that has passed and for pride in the young men they are becoming.
Looking forward to the future one phase at a time! Please!
Have a great day! Tonya

I know this has been discussed at length many times, about how the phone rings for an assignment right after you make plans to do something...it's like Murphy's law. Well, I won passes to the Spiderman movie screening through a radio promotion and not even 5 min. later I got a call for a closing for a town about 2 miles away that would have made it impossible to make it to the movie on time. I thought for a minute that if I took the closing, I would have $$$ to go to a lot of movies, but then again, the closing could be cancelled...and the theaters are going to be so crowded and we'll never get to see it...so...I ended up going with Spidey! lol
(I did have a 5pm closing that at 6PM the creepy ex husband finally signed his two lousy docs so I could make it on time!)

Along Those Lines...
...our family is preparing to go on a week's vacation to the Austin/San Antonio area later this month, leaving on the 25th. Looking at the calendar I realize it's EOM & while it gives me "cause for pause" to think I may be missing some business, our plans are cast in stone. If I lose out on some $$$'s...que sera, sera.

Hey Dennis, I can relate...
I did the same thing almost a year ago when I scheduled our trip to Vegas which is next month. We are leaving on the 22nd and will return home on the 29th (ok the 30th with time change). I was just saying to the hubby that I will miss EOM in June! Funny, how we all think alike.

My phone never rings as much as it does when I'm away on
vacation!

Ditto for me.
When I was in Cali, my phone rang off the hook and it was scheduled for a slow week in the month. When I got back, nothing for 2 days. Isn't it something? Have fun on your vacation Dennis.
