Off Off Topic
What a concept.......
A homeowner bought a bird feeder and hung it on the back porch and filled it with seed. Within a week hundreds of birds were taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. Then the trouble started; the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop, it was everywhere, on the patio tile, the chairs, the table, just everywhere. Then some of the birds turned mean, they would dive bomb the homeowner and try to peck even though the homeowner had fed them out of the goodness of his heart. Others birds were boisterous and loud as they sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night demanding that the homeowner fill it when it got low on food. After a while, the homeowner couldn't even sit on the back porch anymore. The homeowner took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. The homeowner cleaned up the mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be, quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now let's see... Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, free education and allows anyone born here to be a automatic citizen. Then foreigners came illegally by the millions; shortly our taxes went up to pay for the free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; we have to wait 6 hours to be seen
by an emergency room doctor; your child's 2nd grade class is behind other
schools because over half the class doesn't speak English; corn Flakes now
come in a bilingual box; you have to press "one" to hear your bank talk to you in English; and people waving flags other than "Old Glory" are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.
Maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder!

nice analogy
I just read yesterday where my state will witness a critical turning point in the illegal alien invasion.
"One of the most sweeping immigration laws in the country will go into effect in Georgia on July 1. It will cut off state welfare benefits to illegal aliens and will punish any company or business that hires an illegal alien".
I'm 15 miles from the state line, we're gearing up here. BUT if you take away the reason they come here, they possibly will go home. Maybe.

Re: Off Off Topic, Interesting Dog and Sue, what you just
said however in some way is contraditory. Now I believe that the illegal alien (and yes they are illegal becasue there are legal aliens) is a problem, a veyr serious problem. How ever in Dogmongers analogy they are here for the freebies while it appears that Sue's State understands that they are here for the jobs. I have always believe that the if they put pressure on the people who hire illegals that a large portion of the problem wold literally go away. Its interesting to note that at least in California you don't see too many minorities pushing shopping carts with all their worldly possessions in them. I hate handouts in whatever form, I think its demeaning to the recipient and a burden on those who are productive. I completely support what your State is doing Suer, I just wish that California had the brass to do it.

I was recently in the Salinas Valley and I talked to friend and relatives and they told me that a great percentage if not almost every person working in the fields picking up the vegetable were illegal persons. And you think the federal government does not know that? OF course they do, but hey who is going to pick up those vegetables?
Just the hypocrisy of this the government.

When I used to live in Maine the State issued work permits
during harvest time. It seemed to work well for everyone. I know that during WWII there was the bracero and permits were issued to work on this side of the border. I have no problem as long as things are done properly and no one gets abused. I was really surprised however when one of my friends got their citizenship and we went to the registrar of voters and in California they don't ask for proof to get a voter registration card, you just sgn an affidavit that you are permitted to vote, that's it. I remember when I go my regitration in several different states I had to provide proof of citizenship to be able to register to vote.

You hit the nail on the head Charles
Voter registration in my state requires proof, everytime I vote I need to show a government issued picture ID. I have heard recently that it is estimated that there are over one million undocumented aliens in L.A. County, a gift from heaven for the politicians. We HAVE to think there's something more going on here OR our politicians would push legislation faster than I can push a doc!
