Toner - Refurbished vs Original

I have been buying refurbished toner - and am only getting 1000 legal pages per cartridge. I checked dpi setting on my HP 1022 and it doesn't have "dpi", but a scale - I moved it from 3 down to 2 hoping this will increase toner production.

But my question is this: does anyone know (and I'm sure someone knows) if an original new toner cartridge gets more printed pages than a refurbished?

Please no suggestions I refill it myself, I'd have toner on the ceiling. thanks

I have been getting my cartridges at Cartridge World and found they last just as long if not longer than the original. And, after you buy 10 cartridges, you get one for free! I pay about $42.00 for an HP laser ink cartridge at Cartridge World and was paying $67.00 at other stores for the original.
