1 Touch, any updates?
I got a call for a closing for Friday, did a search and didn't see anything recent on their payment issues. The lady tells me their invoicing problems have been resolved, and I'll be paid within 30 days....I don't know...They always sound so honest.....has anyone been paid recently?

I was finally paid for a closing and a re-sign + bad check charges from a year ago...took 7-ish months or so to finally pay me in full. Now, they say they have overpaid me by $75 (they didn't and I have the confirmation to prove our agreed upon fee) and have asked me to return them a fee of $75. I wouldn't take another assignment from these people, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone.

Re: 1 Touch - What else can they say?
Of course they are going to say they have resolved their payment issues. If they tell you, "Yes, we are still having trouble paying notaries, but please work for us anyway" what do you think would happen? I know they sound sincere, but I have heard the same thing from other companies and I can't think of even one that proved to be truthful.

I guess I want to believe that people are honest, like I am.I know most aren't in this business( LO's, SS, TC's. That's why I ask here, usually honesty prevails, and I thank all of you for your honest responses.

Re: 1 Touch - What else can they say?
One that comes to mind recently is Mick from All Pro. He swore to me he was getting back on track, he had fallen on such hard times, etc. I'm sure he DID fall on hard times. But he left many notaries unpaid and opened up another SS under the new name of X-Press Signature and just yesterday someone posted that they had not been paid and the phone is disconnected. We must protect ourselves and only work for SS that have already established a positive track record. If you take a chance on a company, then you must do so knowing that you may not get paid or may have to wait a long time for payment. We cannot always trust what they say.

Re: 1 Touch - What else can they say?
Mick and the lovely Vanessa both lied to me and I haven't been paid for a loan last winter. I could care less about drug or alcohol problems or homelessness. I wonder what the Ohio AG office will have to say about them going out of business and both opening up new companies in the exact same line of business with I believe the very same title company client? The AG office will know because I'll be filing a complaint by this weekend. by the way, Mick, you read this board. Before and asked me to remove a negative post I made about you - you remember, the same conversation where you promised to send my money immediately - perhaps 6 or 7 months ago?

I'm surprised that Vanessa would have lied to you. She left Mick and All Pro because of their "differences". I have never been burned by Vanessa. Just my experience.

Finally received payment in October for a July signing after threatening small claims court.

Slow payment and mega hand holding. I mind the hand holding as much as the payment. Every time I pick up the phone and it's not an order, you are costing me time.

Mick did fall on hard times...I know he did his best to pay the notaries that had outstanding fees due. Me being 1 and he did pay me. As for his opening up another ss, it is my understanding from other notaries that his former wife/business partner (?) whatever, has started her own ss.

Re: 1 Touch - What else can they say?
For the record, Mick did pay me, too. Shorted me at first but did pay the balance. He told me things were working out great and he had a ton of business with the new company, and would I be willing to work for him again when he had a closing in my area? That was in September. Now two months later we have reports that the phone is disconnected on his new business, at least one notary has reported not being paid, and the title company says he was paid on her deal but is now out of business. I can't take a chance on working for these types of companies.
I've been through hard times, too, and I drove a school bus to make ends meet. Hated every minute of it but it's what I had to do at the time, and I didn't hire people to do work for me and then scam them out of their payment. There's a real problem with these companies folding, leaving many notaries unpaid, and then opening up a new company under a new name doing the same type of business.
