A Kleen Signature Service

Any one ever heard of them? I received an email today stating my file was deficient but I've never applied to this company to be on their database. They wanted a photo of my DL, license, notary comm, etc.
I didn't send them anything since I've warded off all signing companies.

Do you mean A Keen Signature Service? They called me last week, gave them my fee, got the usual "get that approved routine". Then read the feedback on them..... glad they didn't "approve my fee".

I just signed up with a signing agency and I am new to this site as well, so I am curious as to Why did you ward off signing agencies.?

If you look at the messages on this website it will make you sick how many signing companies have stiffed closing agents and the amount of signing companies that use us don't pay then go out of business and open a week later under a new name only to do the same thing again.
It's hard enough looking out for the title companies and furthermore they pay more $$.
It cuts out the middleman.
I've been full time for 8 years closed over 600 loans a year and have been stiffed twice this year. I don't need to keep learning, two times are enough.

Hi titlrme2nc - The reason is because so many signing services (SS) simply do not pay the notary. So many of them have gone out of business, owing many notaries, and then re-opened a new SS under a new name, never paying the notaries they stiffed with the old company. We've had to resort to contacting the title company (TC) to ask for assistance in getting paid from some companies. Sometimes that works, sometimes not. If a SS has closed it's doors, there's not much we can do. We've not gotten paid even from some title companies that have gone out of business (do a search on EFS). Some of us have gotten stiffed for UPS or FedEx charges.

That being said, there are a few very good SS out there - Negrete's, Notaries Ink, and DocPros are a few that I have worked with that I would not hesitate to take a job from. However, you must be extremely careful who you work for - always do a search on NotRot for the company's payment reputation. I have turned jobs back to the SS if I found out after accepting the job that they have payment issues.
