Anyone else had problems with CTC?

I am being denied my fees from CTC. I did a signing on 9/24 and everything was good to go. I did another one for CTC on 9/28 which had a couple glitches. I went back to BO 3 times (1 was my problem but one was because a document had been missing from the pack) however, the loan closed just fine on time. CTC says they will not pay me for either signing because there were some problems with the second one. They said several derogatory things to me about me. I have an email with some pretty ugly accusatory language in it from them.

I have never dealt with them, but I suggest you call and speak to someone of authority and ask for specific items of issue with them.

If you corrected everything on the one, then what is their reasoning for withholding payment on the first? That is not right for them to do. If you lost your fee on the second, I could/might understand. But they cannot withhold payment for a job well done, just because another one had a "glitch".

Good luck.

Mdene_AZ thank you for posting this. I will put CTC on my no-no list. There is another post from Sept that someone else never got paid by them. If I were you, I would definitely contact the title company and inquire to confirm loans closed, and let them know of the treatment you received from CTC. Also confirm if CTC got paid from title company.

Please link this thread to the appropriate company in

Signing Central so everyone knows which company you are dealing with.

CTC could describe a few of the companies on the list.

If you have performed the work, and they have accepted your work....the bill must be paid. You can sue on the contract or alternately on a theory of unjust enrichment. If the mortgage was recorded on the strength of your work ...he has waived his complaints legally.

Your work remains your property until it is paid for. Tell him to pay you, or return your property to you.

Thanks to all of you for your responses. I have been a mobile notary for several years on a full time basis and have never had an encounter like I had with CTC. I have had to take a reduction once or twice because of something I left undone but having a signing company tell me they were going to "call the cops" on me (besides reporting me to every other notary affliate he could come up with) was a new one. This was a horrible experience for me. Other than that I really do like what I do.

If they were as bad as you say, please tell all about them,

where located, etc. None of the rest of us want to be treated this way, and would rather avoid the experience. Please help your fellow notary...thanks.

I will never work for CTC again and strongly suggest no one else does either. I did a signing for them in October that they are refusing to pay me for. I was contacted by CTC two days after the signing telling me that the documents had been printed incorrectly and the docs would need to be re-signed. They said that the printing had been cut off on the left side of the documents - which I knew was not true. I unfortunately was out of town so couldn't go out that same day to re-sign so he told me he would have to send out another notary and I would not be paid. I followed up on the signing when I got back to town and found out it had not needed to be re-signed so I contacted CTC about that and he went bullistic on me - cussing me out and I ended up hanging up on him. He accused me of being unprofessional in a previous conversation and then he ends up going totally over the edge. Don't work for them!!
