The beginning of the end.
And everyone thought that this industry was getting bad. How about it is getting worse and worse evryday.

Re: FYI - The beginning of the end.
I knew about this and I ended up closing an LSI loan because the borrowers did not feel comfortable signing a POA. So I guess LSI had to do that one the old fashioned way. Never the less it seems this industry will be diminishing. What will the NNA do?

LSI, has been doing these for years now. This is not new. They are not that popular with some of their clients as well as their customers from what my friends tell me at LSI. I suspect he average consumer/borrower does not feel comfortable with giving a POA to strangers. Some of LSI clients have bowed out of doing this do to it being to much risk/liability.

Our problem lyes in the fact that nowadays most folks can't qualify for a loan. And if the government steps in with that new bill that they are trying to pass then this will be big trouble for many in this industry not just us.

Re: FYI - The beginning of the end. Long
NNA will just find another angle. POA will be a problem for them, I think we have all experiences where people hesitate to sign. The average person has no understanding of what POA can be used for, they just have visions of someone taking over their life. JMO but I can see where there will be several problems doing signings on-line. Hacking (that will happen) anytime money and identity are involved. Program problems and people that just do not have the in-home systems. Just think about the folks that still have dial-up and very little computer experience. It will be interesting to see what happens. The loan business is just not good. It is always a GREAT idea to have a second option to making a living. As individuals we have to always be open to new opportunities. It is hard to face and make chances. Life is what you make it. Welcome to the 21st century. Time to find a new and exciting venture and leave the past behind. We are all intelligent, experienced people who are very capable of moving into other areas. Take that leap of faith ! I did it myself last year when the handwritting was on the wall. Now I just do notary work when I have the time and it is in the zip codes that I have narrowed down to "close to home." I know for a fact you all have The Right Stuff and you will all succeed at whatever venture you choose to undertake. Best regards and Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Teddog/CO.
I'm in total agreement with most of your view points. Having decided I won't take those low-ball jobs, while waiting for my fees to be met, I've also taken on a new endeavor and am awfully glad I didn't leave my day job. Would still love to do loan signing full time, but in the current market, it's just not happening.
And, Happy Holidays to you and yours!!!

I agree with you. Just love to do signings because I really enjoy the BWR's . I have made many friends and met some very interesting people doing signings. It has been a wonderful experience. Sadly a person has to make a living and pay the bills, so onward and upward kiddo !
Happy Thanksgiving Yoli

Re: FYI - The beginning of the end.
Nah, Tony,
I don't think I'll pour creamer into that cup of coffee.
The idea of a POA used as a "cya"--(cover your a**) for an internet signing may never fully catch on.
For right now and into the near future, it will be as effective as a f*rt in a windstorm.
This area of the country (upper midwest) is deeply suspicious about this kind of stuff.
Heck, it's only been 15 years or less since people in ND could buy anything on Sundays. And even now...you can't be open Sunday mornings.
It'll take a heckofa long time for this idea to ever fully catch on here...if ever.
I think the mortgage mess will take a bigger toll than this idea ever will around here.
But in other areas of the country it could be different.

Do you e-file tax returns, do e-banking?
You are already giving POAs to all kinds of people, they just aren't labelled POA in big bold letters at the top.

Nope. Don't trust 'em. The middle states are gonna be an uphill climb.

Re: Do you e-file tax returns, do e-banking? You're right
but then the majority of the population resided in the coastal states. I tend to agree, I never file my tax returns electronically, but I do like the flexibility that electronic banking gives me. I spend a lot of time prerigrinating between Northern and Southern California so that if I had to work with paper bills, my credit would be a mess. This way, I get most of my bills electronically and I pay them electroncially. I realize YMMV!

Charles I believe you mean peregrinating not prerigrinating

For some strange reason Sylvia often what I mean and
what I type turn out to be two very different things . I think this computer is the devil incarnate!
