Actually I have no problems with professional societies if
in fact they are. Professional memberships and subscriptions are frequently part of one's compensation package in most businesses and I suspect there should be some of that in government. Sports illustrated is another issue, that is pleasure reading. Multiple subscriptions should cease. The last research organization I worked for we had a library and there were subscriptions for the library, if someone wanted the information it was that difficult to get tot he company's own library. The thing we should be doing is letting our government leaders and also medial people know that not all is well in Notary land with the NNA. An article like that should prompt a call to the author from those who believe that the information was not complete. Be prepared to realize that many authors have an axe to grind and if you are on the opposing side (whichever side that may be) you might not get the reception you anticipated.
