I am amazed

at the number of calls I've been getting for general notary work where the person says that they have had one or more notaries either call them at the last minute to say they can't make it or just don't show up at all.

I can't imagine doing that to someone.

I did a signing a couple of weeks ago and the borrower told me that a notary should have come the day before, but hadn't, no call, nothing. Funny thing was, when I got there, she wasn't home. She had forgotten all about it. She was close and got there quickly. She said she felt bad because she had made such a stink the day before.
It does amaze me that someone would take a job and just not show...

Reasons

They get what they pay for. And, for $40, the notary doesn't care. That's my guess. (Not saying you accept $40, but you weren't called 'til the $40 one didn't show.)

Re: Reasons

These aren't for loan packages, mostly POA's, etc. But probably the same peeps who would take a $40 loan signing job. IMHO

I feel that if you put yourself out there as a MOBILE notary and accept a job, SHOW UP! Or just don't accept the job.

Sorry for the caps, but this is getting rediculous.

I don't know what the other notary accepted

But you can bet your bottom dollar that I got way over 40$ Wink
