Independent/Contract Loan Processors
Happy Holidays!
I recently moved to Georgia from Maryland and in the state of Georgia, you have to be an attorney to notarize mortgage documents. I had a great side business in Maryland and now would like to become an independent loan processor. Does anyone have any information on certifications, sites/directories like this one for loan processors and information on starting a business as a loan processor?
Please let me know! Thanks!

Never heard of an independent loan processor. Every one I know is employed by the lender.

Grapevine
Mortgage Grapevine is all I have found. Its very impersonal, and LARGE. There are loan scenerios posted and I don't quite know how it all works, I am not that involved in that world. But you can check it out. www.mortgagegrapevine.com
I also PM'ed you.

Goggle NAMP-National Association of Mortgage Processors. This is a rewarding field both personally and financially. Good luck!

I know several brokers I work for have a independent contractor for their loan processor. They have been doing it that way for years. They get paid on a per loan bases.
