Hi Eric - I could not sign up fast enough to "Notary Talk" after I read you message! I did a signing for them on 9.29 and still have not been paid. When I called on 11.19, I was told that "the check was in the mail." It is now 11.26 and still no check! I have made numerous calls and the same thing that happened to you, happened to me; I got hung up on!!! How rude and how totally uncool!! BlackWidow //^\\

I should have completed the closing and then told them their docs were in the mail, and then dropped them after about two months.
I would NEVER do that.... but it would be funny as hell.

As it stands right now, I have called LIA's emergency number, which happens to be a home number for Miguel and Crystal and left a rather lenghty message. I wonder if calling the lender to report this matter would be of any benefit - your thoughts please. //^\\

Sandra, I would suggest contacting the title company before contacting the lender. Let the TC know of the issue (especially the hanging up part), confirm that the file closed (be prepared with file # from HUD-1) and ask for assistance in securing payment from LIA. If it doesn't work with the TC, then move on to the lender.

I have left 4 Msgs re: an order I completed for LIA Signing on the 9th of Oct. Crystal has yet to call me back. In all the negative postings, has anyone actually been paid? Marie in KS

Yes, I got paid at almost 90 days - after numerous excuses, and then a partial payment. When I received the partial payment and was told that I would get the balance when I got the balance, I sent a rather lenghty email to the title company. The very next day, I received a phone call from a Janet who was putting my check in the mail that day. I received it 4 days later. Good look to you!

Thx for the TC advice; left a message with a synopsis of the situation and my phone number. Will definitely follow-up with another call if I do not hear back from them by Wednesday. Additionally, left ANOTHER message for LIA regarding their unprofessionalism and advised them of my intent to contact the TC and the lender. It has become obvious to me after reading other's complain about non-payment that what is happening is unethical AND MAKES ME FURIOUS!! (Yes, I need to meditate.) ; > //^\\

I use to do singings for LIA, but one day they fax back the form that I had fax to them early and they send it back and said the I would not get paid because I had the cus numer wrong. I drop them that day and they have call me again.

They hang up on me on a regular basis...
I always tell them No Thank You, UNLESS you want to pay me in advance using paypal... They almost always say no and hang up on me. Once or twice they have asked if I want to be removed from their list (almost as though I am being "threatened" that they will never call me again) to which I gladly say "Yes, please remove me from your list". Obviously they are as slow at updating notary lists as they are in paying them. Best of luck to you all with them...

Re: They hang up on me on a regular basis...
I want to say "Thank You" to all who had input and/or feedback regarding LIA. It was on a whim today that I thought of searching for an "NSA chatroom." When I noticed references to LIA, I immediately joined Notary Rotary so that I could interact; it has been a mental lifesaver. I have NEVER been hung up on! I have NEVER, not been paid! So, it is with some relief and consolation to "hear" of other's plights and frustrations with LIA, and relieving to know, that am not alone. My email tonight to LSI (a title company in Santa Ana, CA) was rather lenghthy and I will keep all apprized of what transpires. Oh yes, I cc'd Crystal @ LIA with a copy.
Friends 'til the end.........//^\\

Well. its day 58 for me and still no check. I did, HOWEVER, speak to Miguel this morning, who assured me that a check went out on 11.23, and then confirmed the address - the zip code was incorrect - what are the chances? Surprisingly, I also received a call from LSI, the title company that I emailed to complain about the non-payment from LIA. Turns out they have received numerous complaints about LIA and are in the process of eliminating them as a vendor and then asked me if I would sign up with them so that they could contact me directly. ; > Miguel said to call him if I don't get that check by Friday........no problema!! //^\\

LSI has paid somewhat decently, but less than "title company" fees. BUT! They pay on time, usually within 15-30 days.
