NNA Certification(clarification for Becca/fl
I am a certified signing agent with the NNA. It's a pitty that you become a member in a site like this only to be bully by a unprofessional, unethical person like you. First NNA doesn't claim to garanteed any assignments just because you are Certified . What they do state is that it increases the chance to be hired for assignment. Now NNA didn't gave a certificate , I studied and earned it. Perhaps you're spending to much time Knocking companies and other fellow notaries and you should spend more time learning the facts and just maybe that would prevent you from a termination of contracts.

Your efforts to sabotage our name without proper understanding and the misuse and misrepresentation of trade, business, and confidential information is in violation of the vendor partner and confidentiality agreement that you signed and submitted on 9/4/07. Thank you for your time.

Aparently, Miracle, you did not read all the posts that
make it very clear to understand that iMS did NOT perform according to the contract they furnished me and I signed. In case you don't know, Kevin/CT is an attorney and has agreed with my position. I doubt that this makes any difference to you, though. You seem to be the type of person that sees what they want to in a post and doesn't take in the full meaning. Shame.

I read everything you wrote and all I'm saying is that you need to be a little more professional and stop generalizing just because one notary didn't bother to learn his/her duties that doesn't mean that all notaries are the same and while you are at it learn the facts about how it is that NNA Certifies a Notary before you start posting comments about Certified agents and the NNA.
Your comments and marks regarding NNA Certified agents are being reported to Notary Rotary, because as far as I'm concerned it is against terms and regulations to make comments about other companies and notary without substantial evidence to back it up.

"Your comments and marks regarding NNA Certified agents are being reported to Notary Rotary"
Then you are going to have to report a heck of a lot of members here. As a signing service I do not hold any confidence in an NNA certified signing agent! The NNA signingagent.com is the last place I look for a signing agent to handle my signings. I only hire "Qualified" signing agents.
I agree that not all NNA certified signing agents are incompetent to handle signings, but their competence is in spite of the NNA certification not because of it. Over the years I have seen too many NNA certified signing agents posting here asking basic notary questions as well as asking questions they should know the answers to if they had any real "training"

I don't think much of that organization, either, Miracle, and many of the experienced NSA's don't either. I know title companies don't...they complain about the quality of their certification routinely!

Now you've 'poked the bear'...
Listen up, because I am only going to say this ONCE.
Notary Rotary does not endorse the NNA. The NNA is NOT the "be-all, end-all" for Notaries Public OR Notaries who perform loan closings. In fact, can I get a show of hands, please, for all who think the NNA should be sued for misrepresentation? Defending them, their business practices and their so-called "educational services" is right up there with posting how wonderful SOX Signing Service is to work for.
In my opinion, you are teetering on the verge of professional suicide by defending them, quite truthfully. It shows, in spades, how truly UNeducated you are about this business.
YOU, Milagros, are exactly that which you've been called... a TROLL.... and nothing more.
To insult one of the most helpful, kind and PROFESSIONAL members of this community is beyond stupid. Those of us on this forum who know Sylvia (I'm talking about Title Companies as well as Notaries) take great offense to your comment to her.

I have a high regard for the notaries who work for me They may not all be "certified" nor background screened by the NNA (The fact they are notaries and have been background screened by the state is good enough for me), but they are the best! They are competent and know what they are doing and I have no problem recommending them to others.
I do get asked for signing agents in other states, in which case I will recommend an agent in the state required. As I like to pay my signing agents as soon as the signing is completed, check goes in the mail the day after the signing, I don't want to get too big.

You’ll know how to handle the signing and notarization of mortgage loan documents, what lenders and borrowers expect, and how to be responsible and ethical — while safeguarding consumer privacy as required by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and FTC Safeguards Rule."

I have received my final National Notary magazine from NNA. I have received 5 overdue bills to re-new my membership. I have filed every one of them in the round file (trash can). My certification and membership has done absolutely nothing for me for 2 years. I have not received 1 assignment from them (and I ask when a new company calls how they found me) in over a year and a half. Wasted money.
If you stick with this, and I have my doubts because of your speaking and writing skills, you will eat the words you are writing, I/We guarantee it.

That is the joke of the day!!!!
Of course they do have a "solid reputation" but it is not one they should be proud of. When you have been around this business as long as many of us have (before the NNA got into the signing agent business and denigrated it) then you will understand the disdain many of us have for the NNA. But I doubt you are going to be in this business very long.
Becca has no need to worry that the new generation of Certified agents will be "knocking" her down for assignments. Experience will always count in this business. You see more and more title companies and signing companies requiring two years experience. There is a reason for this! The reason is inexperienced certified signing agents who have no clue what they are doing.

I am not NNA certified, never took their classes. I have been doing this for 12 years and made over 100k a year, until this year when the NNA girls came out of the closet and took $60 closings in my area. I never needed them, I got licensed through the State of Maryland. My TPL and my reputation made me who I am today.
I have never had one title company require that I become NNA certified. That would be insane. They want my license and my e&o insurance.

Re: Where did you take it to?
My take on the NNA is that they gain a lot of their credibility from lobbying and testifying at hearings with the federal lawmakers the big 5 lenders and title comglomerates and the Rose Bowl parade committee. Always the same faces and voices. Their success at marketing for members give them the crediibilty to be asked to do these things. There is a definate slant and that is as representing their membership. Slick self representation to their members is the opiate administered to that membership. The voice is a few well educated agressive individuals with thousands of parrots echoing the sell. The basic national UCC recomendations for notary law is their outline with a state by state cut and paste for the rest. Their failing is in their testing, if any for the certification and passing the buck by saying go to sites like Notary Rotary to ask their questions. I am guessing that there is no timely response to them when they are put to the NNA. At best the pride they have in saying they are NNA certified comes from the fact they made an attempt to educate them selves. That shows some initiative. Misguided as it may be.

Milagros..it is obvious from your posts that you are very new to this business. (maybe not as a notary but surely new to signings) Everybody who has been doing this for any length of time is fully aware that the NNA has never had our best interests at heart. They are the laughing stock of our business. All they do is line their pockets with our hard earned money offering nothing really in return. The background screening is a joke. After you have been doing this for awhile you will look back on this and see how uninformed and how 'new' you look. Do yourself a favor and do a search with the orange search button at the top of the page) on this board on the NNA (also sometime referred to as XYZ). Hopefully this will give you some more insight. Doesn't it strike you odd that ALL of us are telling you the same thing...this is all from experience. Unfortunately, you have insulted many folks that could have been a valuable asset to you. Here's an idea, if she wants think so highly of her skills and so forth, become a lawyer THEN you can brag on your certification. You are just a notary, relax geesh! There are great people on this forum that have helped out numerous people, myself included. As notaries you notarize signatures and stating the person in front of you is the one on the documentation.
Now you go to law school, pass the BAR exam then maybe I will think differently. Other then that you my dear are just like every other notary out there who has a power trip and is jealous of the competition.
I read enough off the first couple posts. I was not even going to waste my time reading it all because you seem to be a one-sided argument person.
