Nationwide Notary Service

Has anyone else been stiffed by this company? Julie Durkee was the one that hired me for a closing back in August. I don't have an address, only a telephone # 727-230-9466. Can't get a hold of anyone so I am assuming that they have gone belly up. The list of "no pays" seems to be getting bigger. I am still waiting for N3 out of Oregon to pay me for a closing from January as well. Who can we trust anymore?

More than SOX, this person disgusts me. No matter what is posted - Hey Parker, can you hear?- people still fall hook, line and sinker for the chance to get ripped off. I don't understand it at all.

It's that childhood refrain: "That only happens to others, it will be different w/me."

If you do a search on past messages, an address will come up. Both those companies are known as no-no's.

At this point, the best thing all of us can do is do a past message search (here on NotRot) on a company when we get called for a job. I have turned jobs back after initially accepting them and I have no problem telling them it's based on their poor payment reputation within the notary community. I only do this if I am able to access NotRot fairly quickly - it wouldn't be professional (even in response to a deadbeat company) to wait until the last minute to turn a job back.

Also, start maintaining a "No-No" list that you can keep with you. I add new companies to mine weekly based on posts I read on this forum. When I'm out and about I can pull it out when I am speaking on the phone with a new company and if they are on the list - no dice! I also put comments on my list next to the company name.
