First thing you need to do is read and study your state's notary laws and learn how to notarize properly. Next, read message #33325 on this forum. Click on the orange search button and enter message number 33325. Read the entire thread. Before you ask a question here do your research, the question has probably asked before. Learn to use the orange search button to answer basic questions.

Welcome Karen!

Good luck to you! It's a bad time to be getting into this business however do your research and read posts here for the last few weeks and months. Once you get to the bottom of this page, click on Prev to see the previous page and keep doing that until you just can't read anymore. It will give you a good idea of what's going on in this industry today, and where to get supplies or anything else you want to know.

Take care!

Re: Welcome Karen!

The orange button is one of the most useful tools here! I use it all the time and seldom have to post any qs. Also, spending some time daily reading the posts of the day helps keep me up on the current issues. I also sent you a private message which you'll find on your Home page. Best of luck to you girl!

Welcome Karen

The answer is yes, this site is extremely useful and if you read this forum every day you will gain much knowledge. This forum is by far the best out there, but another good one is the Signing Agent Yahoo Group. Look it up on Yahoo Groups and request to join. My advice would be to read only and not post for a while. Also, this site does sell notary supplies, which helps to support this great forum.

Karen, it isn't clear from your post if you intend to be a Notary Signing Agent, or serve strictly as a notary public. Could you say a little about yourself? What do you intend to do with your commission, goals, etc.?

It would also be a good idea to link to your profile so that people can read about you, and also send you messages and email.

Good luck.
