Just as an aside...

I got a call the other day from an SS who said they were doing a ton of loans from Lending Tree, which used to be a major SOX client. I wonder if their reputation is finally starting to catch up with them...

I turned down the assignment because they couldn't get within shouting distance of my fee - claimed it was more than they were getting paid (which would leave what for me?). I don't recall the name of the SS, but the guy was a pleasure to talk to - he understood my position, thanked me for my time, and didn't shine me on with "I'll see if I can get that approved". A little shared respect is not a bad thing...

Lending Tree is/was a major client of theirs. Not able to meet my fee either, plus it's not worth waiting 60+ days for payment and having to hound them for it.

If you are real then I am happy that you have been paid by sox. I will tell you though that
your day will come. You will do a few in a month for them and then you will realize what we are talking about. From one NSA to another.... the next time a company calls you to do a signing do a search on this site. It will save you alot of time and money.

I was full aware of the repution before i agreed to work for them, i am simply stating that i have had a good experiance with them...i like to draw my own conclusions from things rather then list to people on forums....just my own thing i guess.

I am an ex-SOX employee. I worked for them around two years ago. I got a message in my e-mail telling me someone had sent me a private message on this site. The account was made a long, long time ago. Needless to say, whoever has been posting under my name is NOT me, and as far as I can figure, my user information and password were saved on my old work computer.

So, I apologize for the drama on this message board, I have changed my password, and unless I ever get into the notary community again, you'll probably never hear from "Parker" again.

I did a signing for them on 9-21 (which was against my better judgement) and yes, I got paid
the first of this month, which is their scheduled payment. I did talk to them regarding their
reputation and apparently (??) they had a problem in the accounting dept (duh) which has
been corrected. Yes, I would probably start signing with them again.

For years they denied fought and delayed paying all of their notaries. That's not an accounting problem, it's a DEADBEAT.

Why in the hell would you work for someone like that.

Go to the very first day that this forum existed. Hit the "first" button at the top. The thread starting with message number 39 in the year 2003. You wanna guess what the topic is about? SOX low pay, SOX no pay. Don't be a schmuck. They'll pay for a few, then when you've got about 15 outstanding invoices, the problems will start. T.C.s are leaving them. Doesn't that tell you anything.

And if you're working for them, you're working for $50. You're hurting yourself, and you're hurting all of us.

I have done numerous signings for them and yes have been paid late. I will not do anymore for them I am tired of the song and dance about the accounting dept being revampted and yadda yadda yadda, the past few signings for them I had to get nasty, then they paid

Watch out! That's how SOX will get you hooked and then they won't pay -- AT ALL! I had to get a professional collection agency to attempt to get $3500 in fees, and had to pay a 30% fee on anything collected. These are VERY unethical people and outright lie. I don't understand why title companies work with them. BBB doesn't do anything either.
