The Final Step - Follow Up

I posted a few weeks ago about the Final Step. Mixed views with their payment history, so I decided to find out myself and do a closing - no big deal, close to the house - $ 50.00. Its been 90 + days - no payment - just song and dance.
Most of you may know their history as slow payers; however, I post today to let you know they are still scheduling with no intention of paying their notaries. Supposedly, they may close down soon if Louis can't get a loan to keep the doors open. I asked him if he is still scheduling notaries and he answered "yes", so I asked how is he going to pay them if he can't pay me. He hung up on me.....

I sent them a collection letter certifed return receipt, and of course they will not pickl it up fromthe Post Office. I called them the last week (twice) the gal Sandra answered and asked who I was put me on hold and came back and said that she did not want me to have to wait he (Gary) would be a while, I asked if he was ignoring me and she said yes. Can you imagine being that blatent, they owe me for Sept for 165.00 who the heck knows. What scum sucking leaches, hope I can say that here but they are...........

Re: The Final Step - Follow Up - old legal secretary trick

Next time you send CM/RRR to a scum bag, send a second one via regular mail. If it doesn't come back you can prove two things (if it comes to that)...you tried to give notification/you did by regular mail; and, you did use the correct mailing address/they just refused to be notified by CMRRR.

Thanks Brenda I just called the lender and was told that they paid Gary at Final Step ahead of time for this closing, and that they are getting calls about this SS, oh I feel the burn in my #%%#. So they gave me Vendor Services Dept in California, left a message with the gal in charge, told them that this company is scamming notaries big time. Hope this will rattle someones cage. Again thanks for your input appreciate it..

Nancy now call

the lenders legal department and explain to them that you think they are complacent in using this company. Legal bigwigs do not like to be surprised by what the "little" people are doing in their company and they should be more helpful to you. This has worked both times I have used it. Good luck.

When they called me to do one a few months ago I told them I wanted to be paid from the HUD - he assured me he'd pay me and even faxed me a copy of the check. I did the closing and was paid about two weeks later.

If you are a (1099)why can you not ask them for partial payment ahead of time?
I am new to all this and have not done any signing and will not until after I get certified in December.
Is this possible to be paid ahead of time? l

Dear Bridget, fix your profile or you won't get one single signing.

I agree with Calnotary on your profile. And no, we don't get paid ahead of time. However, a few people HAVE been successful requiring some shady companies who are desperate, to pay ahead of time via PayPal. Problem is, they can do a charge-back on PayPal.

Here's a copy of the message that I just received from TFS (28 December 2007) in response to my most recent request for payment of a past due invoice:

"Amy , i am sorry i can not help you . I am just helping today . Today is my last day here and Gary Plummer the owner is filing a bankruptcy so i guess he would send letter to all his creditors and notaries .
I am sorry you have to deal with all these problems.

Luis"

I guess I should consider myself fortunate that all I am out is $25 for a doc print fee on a cancelled signing. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.....
