TransUnion
I recently signed up with them. After sending them my fee schedule, this is their response:
We have received your application. However, your fee is higher than our average for your area. The default fee is based on the county in which you live. According to our records, our average for San Diego County is only $50. We will pay $25 extra for e-docs. We understand that sometimes you may have to travel a long distance. However, we try to assign closings to notaries with the shortest driving distance first. If you are asked to travel outside of your default area we would be willing to negotiate a higher fee. If you are okay with being paid the average fee for your home county or within certain mileage of your home, please contact us with that information. We appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you.
That's even lower than NNA's suggested fees!

Ignore it............. If they need you they will call......a contract is not needed......stick to your fee, (and please don't tell me it is NNA compliant)......they are fishing. I have read some negative post about them (don't remember exactly what it was,...but you can find w/the search button)
And a suggestion, (you may be doing this now....but) when you are completing those contracts, strike thru the fee they show on the contract and write in your fee and initial before you fax back.

Yes I do that with other companies but in their case they ask you and so I sent them a list of areas I covered and how much I charge for it.

Re: TransUnion-I have a hard time imagining anyone signing
those contracts, they are so one-sided. Have you actually read them? How about those non-disclosure requirements. No way would I sign them and have not, I haven't any contracts with Sigining Services.

Yeah, I figured that out after a few.... B.S. "I agree to work for nothing and in return I will bend over for you and never tell anyone and to further my services to you I will not accept any work directly from any company that may be a client of yours or you can sue me..... and I will continue to follow these jail terms for 3 years from the date of termination of the contrac t that must consist of your signature on the termination."

My take on SS contracts: Since they never send me a signed
contract, they are worthless. But if it makes them feel better, I might. One company even says in their non-compete clause that I will not accept any work directly from any company that may be a client of theirs or could become a client of theirs - now how stupid is that? That would mean that they are the only one I could ever do work.
