W-9 w/two names?
I just got docs for a refi and they included 3 W-9s -- 1 with both the borrowers names and then 1 w/each individual. W-9s only have a signature line for one person so . . . anyone ever seen this before and what do you do?

Are you sure the form wih 2 names is a W-9, and not a Request for Transcript/Copy of Tax Return? Those forms are commonly included in packages, do have 2 signature lines and look somewhat similar to a W-9.

Definitely a W-9. There's also a Request for Transcript. I already called the SS about it on 11/10 (borrowers wouldn't sign due to some errors and no one answering the after hours phone number during the signing). When I asked them the first time the guy said to just have them sign. But, with only one signature line and knowing there should only be one name per W-9 (at least as far as I know), I don't know. Do I draw my own line for the second borrower?

This has happened to me I had the borrower withthe ssn number (in the box) sign the doc. and put a note into title about it. Only one person can sign the form

Thanks, I'll do that. Should I cross out the name of the other person or leave it as is?

I get them all the time. I always ask both borrowers to sign. I never had a problem. Double check with the title company though.

Yes, if two names on the doc, I have them both sign. I know only one should sign, but heck both names are printed on it, so they get two signatures.
