What a day...whew

First, I wake up to Lori Schoenerman, talking head for iMS, trying to justify holding vendor checks for 30-45 days resulting in payments being received by the vendor 75-90 days AFTER the assignment.

Next, I had a very pleasant conversation with a LO/NSA in Orlando just trying to "keep the lights on" like the rest of us. The nice thing about the conversation with the gentleman was that he was very pleasant, he asked pointed questions and he didn't expect me to give him the farm. Very nice in light of what I've seen lately. I hope he calls again.

During my conversation with the nice guy in Orlando, I get a call on the other phone from my favorite former SS owner. It sure was nice to talk with her again. This gal gave me my very first mobile closing assignment and pretty much told me how things were "out there.' You see, I had been working for a title company and learned through a friend that there was a market for mobile closers. I thought what a perfect solution to my situation. I was working for an attorney owned Title Company and the attorney decided to let his wife manage the operation of the five offices. Well, it didn't take long before the entire staff at the two local offices had had enough of that business. I was happy knowing I had an entrepreneurial out.

I received a call from a FL NSA Network favorite Title Company and couldn’t say no even though the closing is out of my “regular” area. I love working for this guy and have gone to the ends of my coverage area for him in the past. He’s a keeper and worth the effort.

Of course, the closing I took interfered with an appointment I had set earlier in the week to finalize an affiliated marketing deal with a TC service provider, but knowing the biz and explaining the deal to the EO, I was not worried. All involved know how this biz works and we are all ready and able to roll with the flow.

At 7:15pm my guys show up in town and I still have no docs for my 6:30 that is one hour south of me. I can’t delay my marketing partners because they are catching a plane out of Orlando for Ohio in the morning. Thank goodness my TC guy in Ohio has been informed of this from the get go and tells me to hang for about ten minutes and he will let me know. My EO calls and tells me we’re off for tonight, but on for tomorrow……thank goodness…and he agrees to participate in my beta launch/focus group re: this service provider.

The meeting with the service provider guys was pushed up and so was the closing. In this game, it’s a crap shoot. After an email and two calls to the EO at around 7:30pm, the closing was rescheduled for the same time tomorrow just as the service providers arrived in town. All is not lost and the EO said “oh, yeah, go meet with your people.” BTW, the service provider is located in the state that this SP originated in and has agreed t part of our little test market. God bless you, Tom, you know we love you and are at your service.

I had a GREAT meeting with the service providers and I am soooo excited about the opportunity to cross market with a cutting edge company. This is so new, so innovative and so exciting. Ohio and Texas, if this works for Florida, you’re next. The owner of the company is already begging me for the Ohio Network contact. I told him, in time, let’s just see how it works out here in Florida and work out the bugs before taking it further.

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!

Good Move!

I think you're doing a great thing for yourself. Doing mobile closings just helps to broaden your scope of things rather then just work in an office. Remember, you won't become rich this way either, it's pretty tough to do mobile due to the competition out there but you have to strive to show the TC you are worth the time!

Lately I have been doing walk in notary gigs, one was actually for a house being sold, but on average I'm doing acknowledgments until I receive a mobile call.

Becca good for you! Keep up the good work and hope for good things in the future Smile
