Why do borrowers do this to themselves
We signed in a hospital lobby. People, kids running, screaming everywhere. They bring their own 2 little ones which are 1 1/2 & 4. They are constantly running and chasing them everywhere. The 4yr old kept running to the automatic door and running outside. There is no way these borrowers took 1 word in that I said or showed them. Thankfully they didn't have any questions and the loan seemed to be fine. I was very patient with the situation although it took forever. I started out filling in all my notary stuff and towards the end, I just flipped the pages and finsished my stuff at home. Don't like to do that, but this situation warranted it. Too many distractions for everyone. I wish the borrowers would please get a babysitter to do the one of the most important transactions in their lives. I'm not usually a complainer as I have closed many a loan in odd situations and places, but this one was a little ridiculous. Just venting. Thanks

Your venting will do no good..but it will help your demeanor.
I've had one borrower sign on the hood of my car in a 40mph wind. Talk about a challenge.
But, she refused to go inside when offered. Guess she had her reasons but she never told me.

Walk a mile in their shoes...it's not as easy as one might
think. Did they just pick a busy hospital lobby to transact this deal out of the blue? To be 'ridiculous?' Probably not.
Then again, some people don't know what to do with kids...good parenting isn't necessarily inherent, and manners seem to be disappearing in society. Bratty behavior is bombardingly used in Ads to sell products; Bratty bahavior is constantly the 'News' of teenage idols; Bratty behavior is exhibited consistently on Reality Shows...manners are 'geeky.' Bratty behavior is HOT, and being polite and mindful of one's manners is not.
Blaming people for their faults, because they inconvenience us, is a bit bratty. We all have our faults. Every one of us, depending on our nature and our nurturing.
Just commenting. Thanks.
