It's not a reason to laugh.
>> I actually started laughing. <<
A $40 fee to do a real estate transaction -- with or without edocs is nothing to laugh about.
It's actually a reason to cry.
Because it is sad that companies place such a low value on the services of a notary signing agent.
But what's sadder is that, there are signing agents who place such a low value on what they are worth, and will accept $40.
Good luck.

That's a ridiculous offer, and it is what was initially offered to me. I said, politely, that I couldn't handle that, but I would do it for, and gave my normal fee. They accepted, and it turned out to be a modification of a HELOC; 17 pages, of which I had to print 2 more copies of the agreement and 2 extra RTCs for a total of 30 pages. Took about 15 minutes. I also accepted one in August for 5 times their offer. However, it was a first & second. That one took 45 days to pay, which is not up to my standards, but things are slow. I would work for them again. I'll be working on getting their payment paster though.

Thanks for the post. This just re-inforces why I will not take any work from signing services. Low prices, They fail to tell you there is a second then claim you accepted the signing I could go on and on. Then it is like someone stabbed you and is turning the blade in you while they smile, THEY PAY VERY SLOW...... I DO NOT SEE HOW THIS IS ACCEPTABLE TO ANYONE.
I COULD PUMP GAS FOR A LIVING AND KEEP MY DIGNITY. I DO NOT ACCEPT SIGNING SERVICES OF ANY KIND.....
