I'm in Virginia, and your stamp needs to read same as your commission. Also, since July 1 law changes, your commission # should be on the stamp (or has to be written in every notarization). How can you be a Notary Public if you don't want your name used?????

You must sign your name the way you signed when you got your commission, otherwise you must put in a name change, at least that is the way it is in most states. I have a long name, and when it came time to renew I wanted to change to shorter signature, but then forgot and signed normally, so am stuck for another couple of years. Oh well....perhaps I'll remember next time, then again, the way business is going perhaps it won't be necessary.

Sometimes you just have to think these things through prior to doing something.
