techy question

All of a sudden my IE changed ... When I click on something whether it is a web link, yahoo email etc I do not see any info at the bottom left of my screen showing any info or that it is opening or etc... what do I do to get it to work correctly? Is it a java thing? an IE thing? or?

somehow the status under the view got unchecked... so go to the pull down menu than click on status!
